WELCOME
to the 1st running club update!!!!! We had a great day last Friday as expected!
We were delighted to see a lot of return runners and also many new runners! Since we had some new club members, Coach Mike and Coach Darrel went over our club rules (a good reminder for those returning as well), and we also discussed how they could earn awards and milestones for the duration of the club.
Coach Mike and Coach Darrel kicked off the activities with a game of sharks and minnows (we swear these kids could play that game all day if we let them LOL). Coach Mike then educated the runners on pacing and led them through a pacing exercise. Starting NEXT week, your runners will be able to start running for laps, which we will tally every week. You will come to THIS SITE each week with your runner to see their progress. We thank Justin Babcock again for helping get this site together and keeping it maintained for us as well!!
We are thrilled to have as many kids as we do in this club and love watching their running improve as we go through each session! We hope they love being there as much as we do!

Here are your general reminders as well:
TIME: We need your child to arrive, be signed-in, and ready to participate in the club by 7:50 am every Friday the club is in session.
WATER: THANKS to MIKE DAVIS, we providing water for the kids this year. They may still bring their water bottles as well.
CLOTHING:
You may want to send your child with an extra shirt as some may wish to change after their run :).
BACKPACKS:
Please let your children know that they will need to leave their bags at the gate before entering the PE area before the club and can retrieve them once the club has finished for the morning. For those students participating in Safety Patrol or who eat breakfast in the cafeteria, we will grant a slightly earlier release.
